Why there's no m² price here
Liquid screed is made to order at a plant and pumped in by a crew, so the price comes from your floor, not a list. We don't use UK price guides: different VAT, wages and haulage.
What drives the price
- Area and depth. Screed is ordered by volume: area × depth. 100 m² at 40 mm is 4 m³; at 65 mm it would be 6.5 m³.
- Calcium sulphate or cement. Different binders, different plants, different prep.
- Underfloor heating. Depth over the pipes, joints between zones, and the commissioning before flooring.
- Small jobs. The pump and crew cost the same for a small floor, so the price per m² rises. Ask whether a minimum charge applies.
- Access. How far the hose runs from where the truck can park, and which floor.
- Preparation. Who supplies and fits the perimeter strip, polythene and joint formers.
- After the pour. Laitance sanding, and whether it's in the price.
What a quote should list
- The product by name and its depth.
- The area measured, and the volume ordered.
- Who does the preparation: strip, polythene, tape, joints.
- Laitance sanding, if it's an anhydrite mix.
- The drying advice and when the heating can go on.
- VAT: included or not.

Is liquid screed dearer than sand and cement?
Both are priced per m² for your floor; ask for both if the contractor lays both. Liquid saves labour and depth; sand and cement saves the pump. Ask for both prices.
Can I buy liquid screed in bags?
Yes. Cement-based liquid screed comes in 25 kg and 1,000 kg bags, and calcium sulphate in a pre-blended bag for smaller areas.
